Different Types of Memorial Stones
By Dave Gorski
When a loved one passes away, it can be therapeutic to
erect a memorial in their memory. One easy way to do
this is to purchase a memorial stone. There are a number
of different types of these stones, with different price
ranges.
One of the options available is to purchase a stock
memorial stone with a poem on it. These can be very nice
to place in your garden or your yard. Of course it will
not have the name of the person you put the stone up
for, but you know who the stone is for so this isn't
necessarily a large consideration. This is one of the
least expensive options, usually starting around $40.
For a little more money, you can have one of the stock
memorial stones personalized, either through engraving
or the addition of a small plaque with the pertinent
details, depending on the company that is involved and
the options that they are offering. Then everyone will
know who the stone is memorializing. Prices start around
$100.
Of course the most personal option is to have a custom
stone created. There are a number of companies that will
do this for you, both online and in retail locations.
With this option you can choose everything from the type
of the stone, the size of the stone, the font, the
image, and the wording of the stone. You can create
something really special that will be tailor made to
help you remember and honor the individual you are
creating the stone for. These stones tend to cost about
$200 or more, depending on the choices that you make.
Memorial stones are also available for pets, so you can
mark the spot where you buried them or just use these to
preserve their memory. You can get them in the same
types as you can for people, though the stock options
for wording will be geared towards pets rather than
being poems like those for people.
As you can see, whatever your price range you can find
stones to memorialize your loved ones and pets that have
passed away. Different companies have different options
available, so if you don't see what you like with one
company, check into the options at a different company.
Prices will also vary, so you can look around for the
best deal on the type of stone you would like. |
