Funeral Programs That Last - Create a
Beautiful Keepsake to Honor Your Loved One

Funeral Programs are the most saved item taken away from
memorial services. These lasting keepsakes help us
remember our loved ones long after they have passed.
They contain pictures and memories from our loved ones
lives as well as poems and bible verses to help in our
times of bereavement.
Because the funeral program is the one item that
everyone receives at the service, and they are tiny
memorials in and of themselves, it is important that
they are of a quality that will properly honor our loved
ones. Creating a funeral program to honor the life of
the deceased is a rewarding but difficult process.
However, I will be happy to offer you tips to make it as
smooth as possible.
The first thing we do when we want to create the program
is to brainstorm. Remembering our loved ones with
friends and family can be therapeutic in the grieving
process. Think about all of the deceased's favorite
things; songs, books, and hobbies are all good starting
points. Also find some pictures to put in the funeral
program. One nice portrait is sufficient, but it is
really great if you can create a collage. Don't forget
that you can also use some sort of background image for
the program that reflects a location or interest of your
loved one.
After you have all of this information together, it is
time to compile it into one funeral program. There are
several types of free funeral program templates out
there that are printed on the front and back in a
bi-fold, or book fold, format, or a tri-fold brochure
style format. This can be done with as many pages as it
takes to fit all that you would like to remember about
your loved one. One of the easiest programs to create
funeral programs in is Microsoft Word.
Printing these programs is may be difficult if you do it
on your own. It may be a good idea to save your Word
document as an Adobe file and have a local printing
service take care of the hard stuff. However, if you
want to do this yourself, please make sure that you have
enough ink, and that you print on color printer quality
paper. It is also a good idea to make sure that one side
is completely dry before you put it in the printer
upside-down to print the back side.
With your effort and care this funeral program will be a
lasting keepsake that the friends and family of the
deceased can keep forever. Many choose to have these
laminated or framed to better preserve and cherish them
over time.
